Robert Pattinson sinks teeth into MTV Movie Awards (AP)

By SANDY COHEN and DERRIK J. LANG, AP Entertainment Writers Sandy Cohen And Derrik J. Lang, Ap Entertainment Writers – Mon Jun 6, 12:08 am ET

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – The MTV Movie Awards was more like "The Team Edward Show."

"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson sucked up the spotlight — and some popcorn-shaped trophies — at Sunday's shenanigan-packed ceremony. Among the goofy actor's moments: winning three different awards, unexpectedly kissing co-star Taylor Lautner, and slipping the F-word past censors when presenting Reese Witherspoon with the special MTV Generation Award.

"It's not always a bad thing to have sexual chemistry with your mother," joked Pattinson, who played the son of Witherspoon's character in "Vanity Fair" and her love interest in "Water for Elephants."

For his role as vampire Edward Cullen in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Pattinson won best male performance, best fight with Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel, and best kiss with Kristen Stewart. Instead of smooching each other, Pattinson declared he didn't "feel like kissing" Stewart before he descended back into the audience and planted his lips on Lautner.

Team Jacob also earned some love from "Saturday Night Live" star Jason Sudeikis, the show's host, who kicked off the silly ceremony at the Gibson Amphitheater by starring in his own version of "The Hangover" in which he went in search of a lost Lautner. The other "Twilight" winners were Stewart for best female performance and "Eclipse" for best movie.

"Natalie, sorry, but the popcorn is mine," Stewart said mockingly, referencing fellow nominee Natalie Portman, who won the best actress Oscar earlier this year for "Black Swan."

It was the third straight year that "Twilight" eclipsed the competition with the most wins at the fan-favorite ceremony. Last year, "New Moon," the second installment of the "Twilight" film franchise, also earned awards for best movie, best kiss, best female performance and best male performance.

"The fact that we're standing up here is a testament to all the hard work that went into `Eclipse,'" Lautner said.

The non-vampire winners who picked up awards Sunday included Emma Stone for best comedic performance for "Easy A," Justin Bieber for best jaw dropping moment for "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," Alexys Nycole Sanchez for best line for "Grown Ups," and Tom Felton for best villain for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1."

"This will look very nice in my downstairs toilet," Felton said of his trophy. "Thank you."

The ceremony was filled with several awkward moments. Sudeikis spent most of his opening monologue cracking jokes about the revelations that Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child with a housekeeper. He also poked fun at singer-actress Selena Gomez, who embarrassingly hid her face from the cameras as he scolded her for kissing fellow teen sensation Bieber and swallowing "three of his baby teeth." Later, Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake cupped each other's genitals while presenting Pattinson with the best male performance trophy.

"I really didn't think I was going to win," Pattinson said during his acceptance speech. "Zac Efron was crying and stuff in that little clip."

The show also served as a promotional platform for Hollywood studios' upcoming films as much as it did as an awards ceremony. Emma Watson, J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg and Elle Fanning were among the celebrities on hand to present sneak peeks at "Super 8," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part One."

Prosecutors say too late to reopen Robert Kennedy case (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The man convicted of assassinating Robert F. Kennedy in 1968 should not be allowed to reopen his case because defense lawyers have produced no new evidence, state prosecutors argued in court papers.

The papers filed on Monday by the California Attorney General argued that the findings presented by defense lawyers for Sirhan Sirhan were available long before his prior counsel submitted an unsuccessful appeal in 1997.

Sirhan, 67, was denied parole for a 13th time in March. He is serving a life sentence at Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga, California.

Kennedy, brother of the late President John F. Kennedy, was a New York senator running for president when he was slain in 1968. Sirhan was wrestled to the ground with a gun in his hand at the scene of the shooting at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

Sirhan's attorney, William Pepper, in April filed a motion in federal court arguing an audiotape from the scene of the assassination suggests a mysterious second gunman -- someone other than Sirhan -- fired the fatal shot.

Pepper had claimed the tape, which was recorded by a journalist at the scene, contains the sound of 13 shots, but that Sirhan's gun had eight rounds and he did not reload.

He also argued Sirhan has not relied on the audiotape in previous appeals, because new technology to accurately examine the tape was not available until 2004.

In their response, prosecutors said that as far back as 1988 the California State Archives had the audiotape and listed it as possibly containing the sound of shots fired.

SIRHAN CLAIMS 'HYPNO-PROGRAMMED'

"The alleged absence of current audio-testing technology was not an 'extraordinary circumstance' that actually prevented (Sirhan) from diligently pursing and timely presenting any of his claims," deputy attorney general Jaime Fuster argued in the court papers.

"Instead, the recording is just another piece of evidence arguably relevant to (Sirhan's) two-gunmen theory of the crime scene," Fuster wrote.

The filing from prosecutors did not seek to examine whether more than eight shots can be heard on the audio tape.

But audio experts remain at odds over the exact number of shots on the tape.

Contrary to the findings of experts cited by Sirhan's attorneys, a 2006 examination by Philip Harrison, a director of U.K. forensic audio laboratory J.P. French Associates, did not find evidence of shots from a second gun.

Pepper in his court filings also argued that Sirhan was "hypno-programed" and that a woman in a polka dot dress induced Sirhan into shooting at Kennedy. Pepper relied on a personal examination of Sirhan by Harvard Medical School professor Daniel Brown to reach that conclusion.

Prosecutors argued that suggestions that Sirhan was programed through hypnosis to shoot at Kennedy have been around for decades, and are not new.

The prosecutors stated that they have declined to address evidence of whether Sirhan is innocent "unless otherwise ordered by this court."

It was unclear when a federal judge will rule on the arguments from the two sides.

Robert De Niro developing Bernie Madoff film for HBO (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Robert De Niro may be stepping into the stinky shoes worn by Bernie Madoff.

U.S. cable network HBO has picked up the rights to "The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff and the Death of Trust" Diane Henrique's non-fiction book which hit shelves last month about the financial wunderkind who bilked millions from unsuspecting investors.

De Niro and his Tribeca Productions partner Jane Rosenthal will produce what is expected to be a starring vehicle for De Niro.

HBO has been in a ripped-from-the-headlines mood of late. Its movie on the 2008 financial crisis, "Too Big To Fail," airs this month, and it is shooting "Game Change," a film about the 2008 presidential election (starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin), from the team behind its Emmy-winning "Recount."

Beware all paparazzo, Robert Pattinson is out for blood, and he means it this time! It would seem that the usually calm and contained RPatz would love nothing more than to kill the hype the Twilight franchise has built around the young actor, and he can think of no other cure than beating the shit out of the papparazzi. His words not ours.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, when asked whether he has ever thought of ways to destroy his Twilight Image, Rob answered:
