Black Eyed Peas, Hudson join UK Jackson tribute (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson have joined the line-up of a controversial Michael Jackson tribute concert in Britain.

Promoters said the U.S. group and the "Dreamgirls" Oscar winner would perform at the "Michael Forever" tribute in Wales on October 8, along with Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Motown legends Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson.

The tribute has the backing of Jackson's mother Katherine but siblings Randy, Germaine and Janet have said they will not be attending.

Black Eyed Peas co-founder will.i.am said Jackson's music had been an inspiration to him growing up in Los Angeles, and recalled working with the "Thriller" singer in 2007.

"The Black Eyed Peas wouldn't miss being at the Millennium stadium for this gig on October8: we all owe Michael such a lot," will.i.am said in a statement.

Grammy-winner Hudson, a former "American Idol" contestant, won an Oscar for her role in the 2006 movie musical "Dreamgirls."

The tribute concert comes more than two years after Jackson, 50, died in Los Angeles from an overdose of the surgical anesthetic propofol.

But the venture has been plagued by problems, including criticism by some Jackson fans and the official administrators of Michael Jackson's estate over the line-up, ticket prices and confusion over charity donations.

The concert will take place during the trial in Los Angeles of Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray. Prosecutors have charged Murray with responsibility for Jackson's death and accused him of administering a lethal dose of anesthetic to help the singer sleep. Murray has pleaded not guilty.

Opening arguments are scheduled to begin on September 27 in the four to six week jury trial.

It's a boy for Kate Hudson, rocker fiance Bellamy (AP)

LOS ANGELES – Kate Hudson is a mom again, and the father is another rocker.

Hudson's rep said Sunday that Hudson and fiance Matt Bellamy, singer with the British band Muse, are new parents.

Publicist Brad Cafarelli tells The Associated Press in an email that "Matthew and Kate welcomed a healthy baby boy" Saturday in Los Angeles.

The birth gives a brother to Hudson's other son, 7-year-old Ryder, whose father is Black Crowes lead singer Chris Robinson. And it means Hudson's mother Goldie Hawn is a grandmother again.

Hudson and Robinson divorced in 2007. She and Bellamy got engaged in April.

The 32-year-old actress was nominated for an Oscar for 2000's "Almost Famous," and has since appeared in several romantic comedies including "Fools Gold" and "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days."

Kate Hudson Glows at the "Something Borrowed" Premiere (Fashion Wire Daily)

Los Angeles – It was hard to miss Kate Hudson as she slowly walked the blue carpet laid out in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Tuesday, May 3. Not only because she's the leading lady of "Something Borrowed," the romantic comedy that was celebrating its premiere there, but also because Hudson lit up the place with a pretty yellow Valentino gown that accentuated her very obvious baby bump and rosy-cheeked pregnancy glow.

Hudson, who is eight months along with her second child, showed off a huge diamond engagement ring, too, along with the guy who gave it to her, Muse lead singer Matt Bellamy. At an earlier press day for the film, the Oscar-nominated actress mused on what having another child would do to her career choices.

"I think now what's happening to me is that I'm shifting," Hudson, who also has a seven-year-old son from her first marriage, explained. "There are always different times and shifts in your life, especially when you have kids. Now I'm going to have two kids. Meaning that making 'Something Borrowed' was probably the last time that I would be able to do something on a whim, to just pack up and go away. The kids are the priority."

Those issues of family versus career aren't as pressing for Hudson's still-single co-star Ginnifer Goodwin, who joined the actress and their male counterparts, Colin Egglesfield, John Krasinski and Steve Howey, to celebrate their new flick. Based on the novel of the same name, it's all about a love triangle, as two female best friends fall for the same guy.

Perhaps that's a tale that's been told a bit too often, but that didn't seem to bother the other familiar female faces that flocked to the screening and after party, including the film's producer Hilary Swank, along with singer Natasha Bedingfield, and actresses Sarah Shahi, Kristin Cavallari, Katerina Graham, Marisa Coughlan, Kate Flannery, Samantha Harris and Ashley Williams. Seems taking a look at "Something Borrowed" is a definite girls' night out.

Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy Are Engaged

Kate Hudson announced she's engaged to Muse rocker Matt Bellamy Wednesday on the 'Today Show.'

During a live interview, host Matt Lauer pointed out a large rock on her ring finger and Hudson laughed, announcing the engagement.

"It just happened a week ago, I'm so glad you noticed," she told Lauer. "I haven't really announced it and I felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, and I was just waiting for someone to notice."

"He's a beautiful man, and I'm excited," she said of Bellamy. No wedding date has been set and Hudson kept quiet on the proposal details, adding only that is was "very sweet, very romantic."
