Coppola, Ecclestone get stylish Italian weddings (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Two globe-trotting celebrities, Sofia Coppola and Petra Ecclestone, held weddings in Italy over the weekend, one low-key and the other over-the-top, according to media reports on Sunday.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Coppola and her longtime musician boyfriend, Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars, were married on Saturday in the Italian village that was home to Coppola's grandparents.

On the same day, British heiress Ecclestone tied the knot with businessman James Stunt outside Rome, capping a three-day event with a reported price tag that ranged widely from $2 million to $8 million, according to various reports.

The Ecclestone-Stunt wedding took place at the same castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes married, and featured fireworks as well as performances by Eric Clapton and the Black Eyed Peas, according to People magazine.

Ecclestone, a 22-year-old fashion designer, is the daughter of former Armani model Slavica and Formula One racing chief executive Bernie Ecclestone. She's no stranger to lavish spending: In July, she paid $85 million for the Los Angeles mansion that was once the home of Aaron and Candy Spelling.

By contrast, Coppola and Mars were wed in a civil ceremony before 80 guests at the Coppola family's villa in the southern Italian town of Bernalda.

Wearing a custom lavender gown by Azzedine Alaia, the 40-year-old bride walked down the aisle on the arm of her father, "Godfather" director Francis Ford Coppola, who owns the estate, according to reports.

Coppola and rocker Mars, 34, have two daughters: Romy, 4-1/2, and Cosima, 15 months.

Coppola won the screenwriting Oscar for her movie "Lost in Translation," and became the first American woman to be nominated for an Academy Award for directing.

Her first marriage, to director Spike Jonze, ended in divorce in 2003 after four years.

Weddings for 'View' hosts take place days apart (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Morning talk show "The View" has a two newlyweds on its panel of co-hosts, with Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd getting married just days apart.

Shepherd, 44, tied the knot with television writer Lamar Sally on Saturday in her hometown of Chicago, according to media reports.

Two days earlier, Behar married longtime boyfriend Steve Janowitz in New York, in an event that, unlike Shepherd's -- which will air as a TV special on the Style network Sept 13 -- was low-key and under wraps.

Shepherd and Sally, who became engaged in December, wed at Chicago's Fairmont Hotel, her representative told People magazine. The bridal party included eight bridesmaids, among them Elisabeth Hasselbeck of "The View," actress Yvette Nicole Brown ("Community") and TV host Niecy Nash ("Clean House").

It's the second marriage for Shepherd, who in addition to her hosting duties on "The View" has a recurring role on "30 Rock." She was married to comedian Jeff Tarpley from 2001 to 2009. Shepherd's 6-year-old son walked her down the aisle Saturday.

Behar, who previously had sworn off marriage, has been with Janowitz for 29 years. A spokesman for "The View" issued a statement saying that Behar would discuss her wedding when the show returns on September 6.

Kate Moss inspired to wed by 'Gypsy Weddings' show (AP)

NEW YORK – Kate Moss felt inspired to get married by watching the British reality show "Big Fat Gypsy Weddings" which follows real-life gypsy women planning to get married.

The September issue of Vogue magazine goes inside the supermodel's July wedding to musician Jamie Hince. Moss says she was charmed by the extravagance of gypsy weddings with wedding gowns that are like "blinging butterflies times ten."

The 37-year-old's nuptials were also no small affair. She had 16 bridesmaids and flower girls, a carnival tent and tepees for children, specialty cocktails called Kate 76 made with vodka, champagne, crushed ice and sugar and a gown designed by John Galliano.

Moss admits in the article that planning the wedding made her "mental."

The September issue of Vogue magazine goes on sale Aug. 23.

Kim Kardashian Reveals Weddings Plans

Though Kim Kardashian and beau Kris Humphries have only been dating for a few months, the reality star is already talking engagement rings and weddings plans.

"I've envisioned the whole thing," Kim tells Life & Style, on newsstands tomorrow. "I can't wait to get married. I've found my wedding dress -- I mean, I already know what my gown is going to look like. I've thought about it all for so long. What woman hasn't thought about her wedding since she was a little girl?"

Kardashian was even spotted talking to friend Brittany Gastineau about engagement rings while at the Beverly Hills Nail Design earlier this week. "I want Lorraine to design me a big diamond ring," Kardashian was overheard saying, referring to close friend and jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.

"Her idol is Elizabeth Taylor, who was a good friend of Lorraine's, so she wants to take inspiration from one of Elizabeth's prized possessions: her famous cushion-cut Krupp diamond. Kim's been talking to Lorraine about it a lot lately," says a source.

"I think I'll name my kids with K's to keep the tradition going," she says, with a friend revealing she wants to name her son Kristopher Jr. "I want a big family," Kardashian told Life & Style. "Three to five kids!"
