Soulja Boy apologizes for slamming U.S. Army (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Rapper Soulja Boy apologized on Tuesday for lyrics that offended some U.S. Army soldiers, but media outlets reported that stores run by the military will not carry his new album because of the song.

Soulja Boy, in a video posted online for a song called "Let's Be Real," rapped the lyrics "Fuck the FBI and fuck all the Army troops/Fighting for what?/Bitch be your own man."

Soulja Boy backed away from his lyrics in the song "Let's Be Real," in a blog post on Tuesday at GlobalGrind.com, a website founded by hip hop mogul Russell Simmons.

"When I expressed my frustration with the U.S. Army, not only did my words come out wrong, I was wrong to even speak them," Soulja Boy wrote in the post.

The 21-year-old rapper, whose given name is DeAndre Cortez Way, first gained fame with online postings of his songs and his "Crank That" dance demonstration.

Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Shrader, a spokesman for military retail network, The Exchange, told celebrity website TMZ that because of the controversy, Soulja Boy's upcoming album "Respect My Hustle" will not be carried in Exchange stores.

But the Exchange, which is formerly known as the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, will reconsider the ban if the song "Let's Be Real" is cut from the album, TMZ reported.

Shrader could not be reached for comment late on Tuesday.

Crowe removes, apologizes for anti-circumcision Tweets (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Russell Crowe went on an anti-circumcision tirade on Twitter late Thursday and early Friday morning, later taking down his cutting Tweets and apologizing for offending anyone.

Read one: "Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature? Is it real that GOD requires a donation of foreskin? Babies are perfect."

When a follower wrote, "There's actually a scientific reason for, u should google it," Crowe replied: "My friend, 'human' science has caused too much damage, don't be a moron."

Another follower called the practice hygenic, and Crowe replied, "Hygenic? Why don't you sew up your ass then?"

Writing to his "Man With An Iron Fist Director" Eli Roth, he Tweeted "many jewish friends, I love my Jewish friends, I love the apples and the honey and the funny little hats but stop cutting yr babies @eliroth"

Snapped back Roth: "You didn't seem to be complaining when I was recutting you this afternoon..." But he also defended the actor, saying he was joking and he was glad to be working with him.

Other posts included:

- "I will always stand for the perfection of babies, i will always believe in God, not man's interpretation of what God requires."

- "last of it, if u feel it is yr right 2 cut things off yr babies please unfollow and f**k off,I'll take attentive parenting over barbarism."

When a followed asked if he was "comparing sexual mutilation w/ a jewish ceremonial act?!", Crowe wrote: "Can you actually read the words you just typed 'a ceremonial act', F--- that. The Mayans had ceremonial acts too."

The Oscar-winning actor later deleted his statements, writing:

"I have a deep and abiding love for all people of all nationalities, I'm very sorry that I have said things on here that have caused distress."

"My personal beliefs aside I realize that some will interpret this debate as me mocking the rituals and traditions of others. I am very sorry."

Roth also posted Friday morning that Crowe was joking, and accused the media of "blowing the comments out of proportion."

He Twittered Friday, "#FF @russellcrowe One of the nicest people I have ever been lucky enough to meet and work with. AND

RESPECTFUL OF ALL RELIGIONS."

Tracy Morgan apologizes for anti-gay jokes (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Comedian and "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan on Friday apologized for making a series of anti-gay remarks, including a reported joke that he would stab his own son to death if he spoke in a "gay voice".

Morgan's apology followed criticism of his stand-up act in Nashville last week, in which he was also quoted as having taken gays to task for "whining about something as insignificant as bullying."

"I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville," Morgan said in a statement.

"I'm not a hateful person and don't condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context," he added.

Morgan's remarks at the June 3 Nashville performance were reported by the gay campaign group Truth Wins Out, and other members of the audience.

Morgan, 42, who has three children, also claimed that being gay is a choice and something that kids learn from the media, according to the reports.

"Jokes that make light of violence directed at gay and lesbian youth aren't only offensive, they put our kids in harm's way," said Jarrett Barrios, president of the gay and lesbian campaign group GLAAD.

"Tracy Morgan must not only apologize, but assure us that this won't happen again and send a clear message to Americans that anti-gay violence is no joke," Barrios said on Friday.

Nashville's Ryman Auditorium issued a statement on Thursday saying that it "regrets that people were offended by statements made by Tracy Morgan during his June 3 appearance."

"The Ryman does not control the content presented by people appearing on its stage, nor does it endorse any of the views of, or statements made by, such persons," the statement added.

Russell Crowe apologizes for circumcision tweets (AP)

NEW YORK – San Francisco's anti-circumcising lobby seems to have a friend in Russell Crowe.

The Oscar-winning actor lashed out at the practice of male circumcision in a series of comments on his Twitter account on Thursday.

In them, he scoffed at the argument that clipping the foreskin serves the cause of hygiene, and declared a newborn baby to be perfect on delivery.

His 140-character tirades were triggered by a tweeted inquiry from the expectant parent of a son who asked, "Do you think I should get him circumstanced?"

Hours later, circumstances had apparently changed for Crowe. He was having second thoughts about his cutting remarks, which by then had vanished from his account.

"I realize that some will interpret this debate as me mocking the rituals and traditions of others," he said in a fresh tweet on Friday. "I am very sorry." And in another post, he declared, "I have a deep and abiding love for all people of all nationalities ..."

Echoing those sentiments in a statement released by his media representative on Friday, he said, "I am deeply sorry for any distress I have caused by my insensitive remarks."

The medical benefits of circumcision have lately become a heated topic of discussion in the parenting community as San Francisco voters face a proposal on the November ballot to ban the circumcision of male children under the age of 18. Opponents say a ban on a religious rite considered sacred by Jews and Muslims would be a blatant violation of constitutional rights.

Schultz apologizes for off-color remarks about Ingraham (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Ed Schultz tried to make amends for calling Laura Ingraham a "right-wing slut" on his radio show Tuesday.

"I am deeply sorry, and I apologize," said Schultz, who was suspended from his "The Ed Show" by MSNBC for his off-color remarks. "It was wrong, uncalled for and I recognize the severity of what I said. I apologize to you, Laura, and ask for your forgiveness."

"This is the lowest of low for me," continued Schultz. "My wife is a wonderful woman. We have a wonderful family. And with six kids and eight grandkids, I try to set an example. In this moment, I have failed. And I want you to know that I talked to my sons especially about character and about dignity and about the truth.

"And I tell you the truth tonight that I am deeply sorry and I tell them every day that they have to live up to standards if they want to be a successful human being in life. And I have let them down. I have never been in this position before to the point where it has affected so many people. And I know that I have let a lot of people down."

Schultz was unable to reach Ingraham in person to apologize.

Ingraham, a radio host and political commentator, criticized Schultz on her Facebook page: "MSNBC suspends Schultz. Oh great, now his ratings will go up."

In a statement released Wednesday, the cable channel said: "MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program. Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

This is just the latest punishment MSNBC has had to dole out. In November, Keith Olbermann (who is no longer with the network) and Joe Scarborough were suspended for violating MSNBC's policy about political donations.

George Lopez Apologizes to Kirstie Alley on Twitter

George Lopez made some nasty comparisons between Kirstie Alley and an animal earlier this week, but now it's Lopez who's got his tail between his legs.

Following Alley's debut on 'Dancing With the Stars,' Lopez compared the actress's routine to a pig with "little hooves tapping away." Lopez followed up his insensitive comment by joking, "Before the show, she went to the market and then she had roast beef," and playing a video of a pig in a car, alleging that it was Alley.

While Alley seemed unfazed by Lopez's nasty remarks, her fans rallied in support of the actress and her dancing skills and slammed Lopez for his malicious behavior.

It seems that Lopez took the message to heart. Yesterday, the comedian apologized to the actress via Twitter, writing, "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie."
Despite his contrition, it doesn't seem that Alley is willing to let Lopez's bad behavior slide.

The actress took to Twitter yesterday to impart some wisdom to her offended fans, writing, "Don't worry about George's comments...just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf (sic)...falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs."

But the former 'Cheers' star wasn't finished. The actress followed up her initial tweet by responding to Lopez directly, making fun of the comedian for accepting a kidney from his wife and later divorcing her. Alley wrote:
