Kirstie Alley says she's paying late Fla taxes (AP)

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Actress Kirstie Alley says she is paying $41,000 in property taxes from last year on her Tampa-area mansion after published reports noted the delinquency.

The "Cheers" star and recent "Dancing With the Stars" runner-up called it an oversight. A spokesman released a statement Thursday saying "we were not aware of the amount owed, and her accountant never received the bill."

Pinellas County tax records showed Alley owed $41,395, including fees and interest, on the $1.73 million mansion on Clearwater Harbor that she bought in 2008. The 2010 tax bill was due April 1.

Tax office spokesman Chad McLeod confirmed that one of Alley's representatives called Thursday and promised to send a certified check.

Alley has lost 38 inches since `Dancing' debut (AP)

By SANDY COHEN, AP Entertainment Writer Sandy Cohen, Ap Entertainment Writer – Tue May 24, 10:54 am ET

LOS ANGELES – When Kirstie Alley performs on the "Dancing With the Stars" season finale, she'll do it in a much smaller dress than the one she wore on the season premiere.

The costume Alley wore for her "Dancing" debut had to be taken in 38 inches for her to wear it again Tuesday for the show's closing episode. Alley will reprise her opening-night dance, the cha-cha, in her original costume.

The 60-year-old actress has been noticeably shrinking week after week, but she was coy when asked after performing in a skin-tight bodysuit Monday how much weight she has lost during her two and a half months on the show.

"There will be some reveal of that at some point, but I really didn't care," she said. "As long as I kept changing and changing and changing, I really didn't care. It was like, keep whittling, whittling, whittling. And the other thing that's really more significant to me — I mean, I love the whittling, I like being skinny — I'm really strong and really agile and it gave me a new life."

Alley's costumes have gotten progressively smaller and skimpier as she has continued on the show.

"We are constantly taking in and altering Kirstie's costumes," said designer Randall Christensen. "Isn't she looking incredible?!"

The one-time "Fat Actress" wowed in a body-hugging catsuit during her freestyle dance Monday. After the performance, Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Alley that she has become "the new poster child for life as it should be lived at 60 years old."

A new "Dancing" champ will be named Tuesday. Alley is up against actress Chelsea Kane and football star Hines Ward.

Alley, Kane, Ward to compete for `Dancing' crown (AP)

LOS ANGELES – Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane and Hines Ward will attempt to samba, quickstep and freestyle their way to the "Dancing With the Stars" title.

The two actresses and the football star will each perform a pair of dances Monday on the season's penultimate episode of the hit ABC show.

Ward, who was named the Super Bowl's most valuable player earlier this year, says he plans to "be the halftime show" during his Jackson 5-themed freestyle dance.

Alley says she is planning "lots of aerials" during the no-holds-barred routine and "showing people that you can be perfect however you are."

Kane says she's eager to "take full advantage of the freestyle" and dance without rules.

Viewers can vote for their favorites after Monday's show. A new "Dancing" champ will be crowned Tuesday night.

George Lopez Compares Kirstie Alley to a Pig

Kirstie Alley has gained some girth since her days on 'Cheers,' and George Lopez isn't about to let her forget it.

Lopez launched an attack on the 'DWTS' star's fuller figure on 'Lopez Tonight,' saying of her first performance, "She did a nice job, her little hooves tapping away."

While Alley declared on Twitter, "lost 60 lbs before DWTS... Haven't weighed in three weeks but sure I've lost over 10 more," Lopez kept the barbs about her weight coming.
"Before the show, she went to the market and then she had roast beef," said Lopez, alluding to a line from the classic nursery rhyme 'This Little Piggy.' Lopez followed this up with a commercial featuring an animated pig, saying, in case the joke wasn't clear enough, that it looked like Alley.

Despite the jabs, the actress has remained in good spirits, telling her Twitter followers, "You are all saying such sweet and complementary things to me... Thank u all so much.. I feel like Cinderella tonight."

George Lopez Apologizes to Kirstie Alley on Twitter

George Lopez made some nasty comparisons between Kirstie Alley and an animal earlier this week, but now it's Lopez who's got his tail between his legs.

Following Alley's debut on 'Dancing With the Stars,' Lopez compared the actress's routine to a pig with "little hooves tapping away." Lopez followed up his insensitive comment by joking, "Before the show, she went to the market and then she had roast beef," and playing a video of a pig in a car, alleging that it was Alley.

While Alley seemed unfazed by Lopez's nasty remarks, her fans rallied in support of the actress and her dancing skills and slammed Lopez for his malicious behavior.

It seems that Lopez took the message to heart. Yesterday, the comedian apologized to the actress via Twitter, writing, "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie."
Despite his contrition, it doesn't seem that Alley is willing to let Lopez's bad behavior slide.

The actress took to Twitter yesterday to impart some wisdom to her offended fans, writing, "Don't worry about George's comments...just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf (sic)...falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs."

But the former 'Cheers' star wasn't finished. The actress followed up her initial tweet by responding to Lopez directly, making fun of the comedian for accepting a kidney from his wife and later divorcing her. Alley wrote:
