Rapper Big Boi arrested on drug charges in Miami (AP)

MIAMI – Grammy-winning OutKast rapper Big Boi has been arrested in Miami on charges of illegally possessing drugs including ecstasy and Viagra pills.

The rapper, whose real name is Antwan Patton, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday. According to the Miami-Dade County Corrections website, the 36-year-old Patton was also carrying MDMA, which is the main ingredient in Ecstasy.

The rapper was booked around 1:30 p.m. on $16,000 bond.

Phone and email messages were left for Big Boi's publicists.

Big Boi is best known as half of the groundbreaking rap duo OutKast, which includes Andre 3000. The Atlanta-based group won six Grammys and churned out six platinum-plus albums, including "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below," which sold over 10 million copies.

Singer Paulina Rubio arrested in Miami after crash (AP)

MIAMI – Mexican pop singer Paulina Rubio is charged in Miami with refusing to comply with police officers after a traffic accident.

According to an arrest report, Rubio's BMW collided with another car Saturday near Miami's Little Havana.

When asked to get out of her car, Rubio allegedly refused, cursed at an officer and said she was nervous and that "all of you Miami cops are abusive."

The officer placed Rubio in handcuffs. The report states that Rubio screamed for help and threatened to call her attorney.

Police say Rubio eventually calmed down and apologized. She is charged with refusing to obey a lawful command, obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct.

The report says Rubio wasn't taken into custody because she needed to breastfeed her baby. She'll have to appear in court.

Rapper Flo Rida charged with DUI in Miami Beach (AP)

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A large crowd pleaded with officers to let rapper Flo Rida go and one fan offered to drive him home after he was charged with driving under the influence early Thursday in Miami Beach, police said.

According to an arrest report, officers spotted his 2008 Bugatti driving erratically about 3:45 a.m. The report said the rapper, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, failed a field sobriety test, blew twice the legal limit on a device to measure his blood-alcohol level, had bloodshot, watery eyes, and slurred his speech.

After his second attempt at trying to walk a straight line the rapper said, "officers, I can't do this. I don't feel I can walk a straight line. I had a few drinks. Let's try another test. I live on the other side of the bridge. I can make it home," according to the Miami Beach Police.

The 31-year-old was charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license after failing to pay a traffic ticket. He was later released on $2,000 bail and a judge signed an order allowing him to fly Thursday night to Bangkok, Thailand, to perform several concerts, said his lawyer Christopher Lyons. The order requires Flo Rida to return June 16.

Lyons declined comment on the charges, saying he wanted to conduct his own investigation.

Flo Rida's debut song, the party jam "Low," and "Right Round" both hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Sean Kingston injured in Miami crash: report (AFP)

MIAMI (AFP) – "Beautiful Girls" singer Sean Kingston was injured when his personal watercraft slammed into a bridge in Miami, The Miami Herald reported Monday.

Kingston, 21, was riding with a female friend when they crashed into the Palm Island Bridge, and the two were picked up by another boater, authorities told the paper. His condition was not immediately known.

The Jamaican-American singer's "Beautiful Girls"

hit number one in 2007. He recently toured with pop superstar Justin Bieber, the daily said.

Born Kisean Anderson in Miami, Kingston moved to Jamaica as a boy. His stage name is the Caribbean country's capital.
