Keira Knightley is a married woman.

The 28-year-old actress tied the knot with her beau James Righton, 29, on May 4 in an intimate ceremony at the town hall in Mazan, a small town around 12 miles from Marseilles, France, according to People.

The couple, who got engaged a year ago, exchanged vows in front of a handful of guests.

"It was not a long service and very few people" one witness tells People,. "The ceremony occurred just before noon and lasted only about 30 minutes. Keira looked beautiful. She wore a very pretty, very classic dress."

Knightley's dress can be seen in photos obtained by X17online.com. She wore a strapless tulle frock that came to her knees, a classic Chanel jacket and flats. Klaxons rocker Righton wore a navy suit.

"It was a very moving ceremony," an onlooker tells Us Weekly of the low-key affair, officiated by Mazan mayor Aime Navello. "Keira looked emotional during the whole thing. She cried when they exchanged their vows but was still smiling."

Fifty to 100 guests are expected to attend the wedding reception tonight, which will be held close to the couple's vacation villa in in the picturesque hills near Avignon. A tent was spotted there on May 3.

Knightley to adopt English accent for Anna Karenina (Reuters)

TORONTO (Reuters) – Keira Knightley will speak with an English accent when she plays the classic Russian character of Anna Karenina, the actress said on Sunday at the Toronto Film Festival.

The British actress, who is at Toronto promoting her role in "A Dangerous Method" -- in which she also plays a Russian character -- told Reuters in an interview on Sunday that for her biggest role yet, in the upcoming "Anna Karenina," director Joe Wright and a cast including Jude Law had decided to speak with English rather than Russian accents.

"It's going to be an English accent. It's always very tricky when you are doing something that is meant to be in another language. Because you are like, what accent should it be, should you do that? Well, if you've got a Russian accent, why aren't you speaking Russian? It's an English-language film. So we have taken the decision that it's an English accent," she said.

The film, adapted from Leo Tolstoy's novel, considered one of the greatest of all time, will start shooting in a week's time. The cast already has completed three weeks of rehearsal, Knightley said.

"I've been reading the book now, for about two months, three months, poring through it, trying to pick pieces out of it, trying to figure it out. And then a couple of history books of that era in Russia, which is fascinating," the 26-year-old actress said.

Knightley has received some praise for her turn in David Cronenberg's "A Dangerous Method" -- which premiered at Toronto on Saturday -- in which she plays Russian patient Sabina Spielrein, who comes between psychoanalysts Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud. In that film she does use a Russian accent.

But looking ahead, she said her mind was tuned to the late-19th-century Russian high society of "Anna Karenina," as she follows the likes of Greta Garbo in the title role.

"It's a big boy," she said about the role. "It's very challenging, it's very very exciting ... hopefully it will all come together."

Is Keira Knightley Dating Rocker James Righton?

It looks like Keira Knightley has finally moved on after splitting up with ex Rupert Friend in January.

The Mirror is reporting that the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actress has been quietly dating James Righton, co-vocalist and keyboard player of the band The Klaxons.

Knightley, 26, was introduced to Righton, 27, by mutual friend Alexa Chung four weeks ago.

A friend of Knightley is quoted saying, "She's extremely happy right now and really enjoying spending time with James. He's a real rocker and a lovely guy with it and she likes that whole scene -- lately she's become far more rock and roll and has been hanging out with a really trendy crowd."
The friend continues, "Keira's really smitten with James but wants to just quietly get on with it and see what happens."

But a source does reveal that Knightley plans to "take things slowly," especially since she and her ex were together for five years before they broke up.

The source says, "Keira's been making sure things move slowly. She certainly won't be stepping out on a red carpet with James in the near future. It's really early days."
