Royce da 5'9" would love to be as big as Eminem (AP)

NEW YORK – Royce da 5'9" has enjoyed a No. 1 album thanks to his collaboration with Eminem, but he doesn't enjoy the same amount of fame. He's still aiming high, though.

"It would be great if I could be in that position," says Royce, whose real name is Ryan Daniel Montgomery.

"I obviously don't have to be that big," he adds modestly.

The rapper has toiled under the radar for years, but is enjoying a different side of fame since working with Eminem, a fellow Detroit native whom he has known for years. Their joint album "Hell: The Sequel" under the moniker Bad Meets Evil was a chart success, and Royce appeared on stage with Eminem at the recent Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, in front of a 60,000 strong crowd.

"It's one of the most massive things that I've ever been a part of performance-wise. It was crazy, the energy was great, everybody showed Marshall a lot of love," Royce said in an interview this week about Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers.

"Once you reach that level of superstardom, like when you're beyond hip-hop, that's like something else. Not everybody is built for that," says the rapper.

But Royce is hoping to ride the wave of his Bad Meets Evil success with his new album, "Success Is Certain," which was released this week .

Time to speculate: Princess Diana would be 50 (AP)

LONDON – Princess Diana would have been 50 years old on Friday, perhaps the only certainty about what might have been in a life abruptly cut short by a 1997 car crash in Paris, with a new boyfriend, two months past her 36th birthday.

Officially, there are no plans for marking the birth anniversary; Prince William, Diana's elder son, will be in Canada on Friday with his wife Catherine on their first big international tour as husband and wife.

But the "what if?" questions abound as the world looks back on Diana's life and legacy.

Andrew Morton, the British journalist who was Diana's confidant and collaborator on an explosive book about the marriage turmoil that led to a royal divorce, believes she might now be living in the United States.

"A lot more billionaires live in America than in Britain," Morton said in an interview with The Associated Press in Los Angeles.

"And she probably would have snagged a guy with all the toys; you know, the guy with the private jet, the boat and the house in the Hamptons. Maybe started a second family. She always wanted a baby girl, and that was an ambition that she held very dear."

A new life in America is exactly the future imagined by British writer Monica Ali in her new novel "Untold Story." It depicts a princess closely modeled on Diana who fakes her own death, changes her name and rebuilds her life in a small American town — until the paparazzi who dogged her past threaten catch up with her.

The enduring fascination Diana commands in the United States was in evidence on the latest cover of Newsweek, which showed a computer-generated image of Diana at 50, strolling next to William's bride.

The image, which came under widespread criticism for being "creepy," was for an article by Newsweek editor-in-chief Tina Brown titled "If She Were Here Now."

However irresistible that question is to some, Diana's former secretary Patrick Jephson says the speculation is "entertaining perhaps, but hardly useful."

"The first Mrs. Wales might by now be solving conflicts, banishing poverty, feeding the world's hungry or even breeding spaniels in happy rural obscurity. Alas, we will never know," Jephson said in a commentary for The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

"Instead we have an even greater enigma. Why is it that 14 years after her death she continues to figure so large in popular imagination?"

It's a power that can be measured in dollars — $800,000 in the case of a black dress in which Diana danced with John Travolta in 1985, sold at auction in Toronto earlier this month, or $34,000 for a letter to her nanny, auctioned in 2008.

Popular fascination with the tragic princess remains a tempting market for some merchants, whose birthday wares include:

• The Diana 50th birthday bear by Steiff from the Danbury Mint. "Her blonde mohair is gloriously soft to the touch, and those big eyes recall the young 'Shy Di' we remember so well."

• The 50th birthday portrait coin from the Westminster Collection.

• The Royal Doulton 50th birthday Diana porcelain figurine.

• The commemorative stamps from Grenada.

• The Diana Queen of Hearts Earrings from Compton & Woodhouse.

Inevitably, there's a Facebook page, where one post says "neither time nor reason, will change the way we feel."

A website, http://www.high50.com, offers some speculation about what a 50-year-old Diana would be doing.

Contributors speculated that she might be living in New York, getting botoxed, happily married or happily divorced (again), undergoing therapy, working hard for charities.

"She was a very down to earth kind of woman and I think she'd have embraced 50 with a certain amount of resolution. I think she'd have found it quite amusing that she'd gotten that far," said Bruce Oldfield, one of the British designers who worked for Diana. One of his dresses for her sold for $163,000 in the auction.

"I think she'd live in New York," Oldfield said in an interview with The Associated Press.

"New York is very classic, very conservative. She'd live in some fab apartment on the Upper East Side... She'd probably be very involved with the Metropolitan museum and charities. And she'd wear a lot of beige I think. I think she would wear sensible shoes and I think she would be chic. Chic isn't dull and boring, nor is it old."

Diana died at a time of turmoil in her life. A discreet and lengthy romance with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan had recently ended because he had concluded that her fame made it impossible to have a normal life together. The romance with Dodi Fayed, who died with her, was less than two months old.

Morton feels confident that Diana would still be a problem for her ex-husband, Prince Charles, and the royal family.

"She always towered over Prince Charles, so anything she did reflected on Charles," said Morton.

The Oprah Effect: 3 Books I Would Never Have Read (ContributorNetwork)

COMMENTARY | As "The Oprah Winfrey Show" ends, I wonder what I am going to do during her allotted time slot. For many years at 4 p.m., I faithfully found a remote control to tune in to the episodes of irreplaceable entertainment, encouraging me to live my best life. The media mogul is now ending her show after 25 years.

Oprah's star-studded farewell celebration will air early this week, leading up to her final show on Wednesday. The surprise event kicked off at Chicago's United Center last week, according to the Associated Press.

Harpo Productions received over 154,000 ticket requests to see the historic event, but that number pales in comparison to all of the "extended family" she has accumulated over the years. Although her show is ending, she will still be in the forefront, with her new network, OWN, and O Magazine.

Yet as this particular chapter ends, I cannot help but feel like a close friend is moving away. As a small girl, I could remember the women in my life always had Oprah on at her dedicated time, whether I liked it or not. As the issues floated over my young mind, I could not possibly know the impact that she would make upon my life.

One legacy that has made an impact on the world, including myself, is the Oprah Book Club. For over 10 years, the show featured books that she felt worthy of her stamp of approval and a global conversation.

Like Winfrey, it seems like I have been an avid reader my whole life. I read one of her book club selections, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, around the age of 12. When my peers' favorite pastimes were music and fashion, it comforted me to know that Oprah was a reader too.

Though the show is ending and my heart is saddened, it has caused me to reflect on my favorite books that Oprah has enticed me to read.

1. A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle

Oprah decided that she would use her show to give back to the world. One of those ways was discussing the spiritual side of our lives, so she introduced authors of books exploring different approaches to our traditional thoughts of spirituality. In Tolle's display of thinking, we should be conscious of our thoughts and the world around us.

This book is so profound: It attempts to explain the part of us he calls the "egoic mind," which is dysfunctional by nature. With this book, I became more aware of what was going on around me, from my thoughts to the movies I watch. The book points out that science and technology, although beneficial, magnify our abnormal behavior. That is why we can watch movies of people beaten and killed for our entertainment.

2. She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb

Oprah was so taken by this book in 1992 that she gave Wally Lamb a call to thank him personally for writing it, the author wrote for USA Today. A few years later, Oprah offered this book as a one of her book club selections. That is where I come in.

This book is incredibly sad. The main character, Delores, went from having depressing circumstances as a teenager which catapulted her to a sad adulthood. Nonetheless, the craftsmanship is undeniable. As my heart twisted with all of her wrong choices, I could not help but think, "Did someone actually make this up?" The character seemed so real.

I would have never picked up this nondescript book if it had not been for Oprah. This book prompted me to look at my life and declare that it is not so bad. Whatever hand that is given to me, I have the choice to hold it or fold it.

3. White Oleander by Janet Fitch

Oprah brought this book to my attention. Astrid, the main character, is a young girl who was born into awful circumstances, such as a murderous mother and moving from foster home to foster home. Oprah loved this book; not only were the characters believable, but the way Fitch put her words together made a beautiful arrangement.

"I fell in love with a story that deeply moved me, and vivid passages that described the sky as the color of peaches and compared sorrow to the taste of a copper penny," writes Oprah. This book, although sad, was not depressing. A poetic journey of youth and self-discovery, White Oleander, a book I would never have read, will have a place in my heart forever.

When Winfrey does her final closing, her ambition to bring hope to her viewers will be a success. From her candid conversations with celebrities and newsmakers to prompting her viewers to enjoy literature, she must know her efforts are appreciated and will be missed dearly.

Neve Campbell knew that Courteney Cox and David Arquette would split

We were all a bit surprised when David Arquette and Courteney Cox announced they were splitting. They’re both pretty and looked very much in love so it made us a little bit sad. But you know who wasn’t surprised at the news? Their Scream co-star Neve Campbell.

Neve (said like Bev)  told iVillage: 'I wasn't surprised. I was aware a little bit of what was going on. They were very professional during the film and weren't talking about it or making an issue of it, but I was somewhat aware of what they were dealing with.'

Oooh psychic Neve.

But even though the couple are currently apart, Neve believes they could work things out saying she reckons they 'still love each other very much'.

But even if David isn’t showering Courteney with love and kisses at the moment, there’s enough coming from Neve herself who says she’s now really good buddies with the actress after bonding on the set of Scream 4.

'We hadn't had enough time on the last film to get to know each other properly, and we just sort of fell in love with each other,' she explained. 'She's a fantastic woman, really hilarious and wise.'

Well her and her hubby Lamar Odom have decided that a logical extension of their love for each other is clearly to release a scent together. Well if it’s good enough for the Beckhams. Named Unbreakable it’s a unisex scent meaning both you and your man can drench yourself  in eau de Kardashian. Sadly it’s not available over here yet but we’ll let you know just as soon as it is
