Sarah Jessica Parker prepares for Hurricane Irene (AP)

NEW YORK – Sarah Jessica Parker says she's "battening down the hatches" in preparation for Hurricane Irene.

The storm is expected to hit New York City Saturday.

While promoting her new comedy, "I Don't Know How She Does It," in New York on Thursday, the 46-year-old Manhattan mom said she's in full storm-preparedness mode.

The actress says she's removing anything that could fly through windows. She's also making sure she and her husband, actor Matthew Broderick; their 2-year-old twins, Loretta and Tabitha; and 8-year-old son, James Wilkie, are stocked up on water, flashlights and batteries.

"I Don't Know How She Does It" is based on the book by Allison Pearson. It is about a career-minded mom juggling a demanding job and the family she adores. It hits theaters Sept. 16.

Parker, Weinstein and Schwab out at Halston (AP)

NEW YORK – Once again, the Halston fashion brand has cleaned house, severing ties with Sarah Jessica Parker, who was creative director and president of the label's contemporary line, as well as with runway collection designer Marios Schwab and investor Harvey Weinstein.

Parker's departure was reported earlier this week by Women's Wear Daily and Vogue. On Friday, WWD reported Schwab and Weinstein were out.

The trio were part of an effort to resurrect the Halston brand, which has had many ups and downs since its 1970s glory days, when it was helmed by the late Roy Halston Frowick and was synonymous with a sexy, slinky disco style.

Halston will not show a spring 2012 designer collection at New York Fashion Week, and instead will focus on the lower-priced Halston Heritage line, WWD reported.

Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker highest paid actresses (Reuters)

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker, with estimated annual earnings of $30 million each, are the highest paid actresses in Hollywood, according to the Forbes.com annual list.

Jolie topped the Forbes.com list thanks to the worldwide success of her action film "Salt," which brought in $300 million, and "The Tourist," which also featured Johnny Depp and earned $280 million at the worldwide box office.

Much of Parker's hefty earnings comes from reruns of the hit television show "Sex and the City", which she starred in and produced, and earnings from the second movie which generated $290 million at the global box office.

"People may be surprised to see Sarah Jessica Parker up there but they may not realize that in addition to acting, she earns big from her perfumes and endorsement deals," said writer Dorothy Pomerantz of Forbes.com. "Also she's coming off of 'Sex and the City 2' which turned a healthy profit."

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon were not far behind in the rankings with each actress bringing home $28 million.

Aniston's film "Just Go With It" is her fourth highest earning film in the U.S.

The top 10 earning actress made a total of $218 million between May 2010 and May 2011, according to Forbes.com, which compiled the list by talking to producers, lawyers, agents and Hollywood insiders to estimate what each actress earned.

Last year's top earner, Sandra Bullock, took a 12-month break from making movies and dropped to No.9 with earning of $15 million.

Sarah Jessica Parker Will Give 'Annie' Authors Goodspeed Award June 4 (Playbill)

Sarah Jessica Parker, the international TV and film star whose early career included donning a red wig, red dress and patent-leather Mary Janes as Broadway's Annie, will present an award to that show's creators at a June 4 benefit for Goodspeed Musicals.

Parker will present The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre to Annie's Tony Award-winning writers Thomas Meehan (librettist), Charles Strouse (composer) and Martin Charnin (lyricist) at Goodspeed Musicals' Gala in Connecticut.

Conrad John Schuck, who made his Broadway debut as Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in 1979, is master of cermonies for the entertainment-filled event.

The benefit is at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, 55 Bridge Street (Route 82), in Haddam, CT, not far from East Haddam, where Goodspeed Opera House gave Annie its premiere prior to worldwide fame.

The Gala will include a cocktail hour and a dinner followed by a live auction and entertainment by some of Broadway's finest performers "celebrating Annie and its amazing journey from Goodspeed's stage to Broadway, the West End, and the silver screen."

Proceeds from the Gala will support Goodspeed Musicals' Max Showalter Center for Education in Musical Theatre.

The Honorary Committee (with some members present) will include Andrea McArdle, who originated the role of Annie at the Goodspeed Opera House and on Broadway; William Berloni, the 2011 Special Tony Award-honored theatrical animal trainer who adopted and trained the original Sandy; Ken Billington, lighting designer for the 1997 Broadway revival of Annie; Sutton Foster, who appeared in the Broadway revival of Annie in 1997 (she's busy as a Tony nominee of Broadway's Anything Goes); Freddie Gershon of Music Theater International; Arielle Tepper Madover, producer of the 2012 Broadway revival of Annie; James L. Nederlander and James M. Nederlander, Broadway producers of the original Annie; and Wendy Orshan, general manager for the upcoming 2012 Broadway revival.
