Minka Kelly, Derek Jeter strike out (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Actress Minka Kelly and New York Yankees star Derek Jeter, once the subject of engagement talk, have ended their three-year relationship, a representative for Kelly told People magazine on Friday.

The "amicable" breakup, as described by Kelly's representative, arrives amid career milestones for both. Jeter, 37, marked his 3,000th career hit in July, with Kelly on hand for the event at Yankee Stadium. The "Charlie's Angels" reboot starring Kelly premieres September 22 on ABC.

A spokeswoman for Kelly was not immediately available to comment.

Jeter, one of the highest paid players in Major League Baseball, has dated a number of high-profile women, among them Mariah Carey, Scarlett Johansson, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel.

Kelly, whose credits include the series "Parenthood" and "Friday Night Lights" and the feature "The Roommate," is shooting her new show in Miami. The daughter of former Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay, she has been romantically linked to musician John Mayer and actors Chris Evans and Donald Faison.

Singer R. Kelly out of hospital after surgery (AP)

CHICAGO – A spokesman for R. Kelly says the R&B singer is out of the hospital following throat surgery this week.

Spokesman Allan Mayer said Thursday that the 44-year-old left Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and is recuperating at his home in the city.

Mayer says it isn't clear when the Chicago native might be well enough to resume performing.

The Grammy-winning singer had complained of throat pain and was taken to the hospital on Tuesday. The same day, surgeons drained an abscess on one of his tonsils.

The self-proclaimed Pied Piper of R&B released a critically acclaimed retro-soul album last year, titled "Love Letter." He recently completed the U.S. leg of a worldwide tour.

Kelly won a Grammy in 1997 for his gospel-tinged "I Believe I Can Fly."

R Kelly faces foreclosure on Chicago-area mansion (AP)

CHICAGO – Grammy-winning singer R. Kelly faces a $2.9 million foreclosure on his suburban Chicago mansion.

Crain's Chicago Business reported Tuesday that JPMorgan Chase Bank filed the foreclosure lawsuit last month in Cook County Circuit Court. The complaint states that Kelly hasn't made monthly mortgage payments since June of last year.

Crain's reports the Olympia Field home's appraised value fell 26 percent in a year, to $3.8 million in 2010. The original 1999 loan was for $3.5 million

The principal due is more than $2.9 million.

The R&B singer's spokesman, Allan Mayer, declined to comment about the foreclosure. But he tells The Associated Press that Kelly isn't in financial trouble.

Mayer says Kelly now lives in Chicago and that his recent tour and 2010 album, "Love Letter," were successful.

Kelly Osbourne Considering Gastric Band to Maintain Weight

Kelly Osbourne is considering getting a gastric band surgery to maintain her slim figure.

The 'E! Fashion Police' co-host is thinking of taking the drastic step ever since she put on almost 14 pounds while on vacation and as she fears that Madonna may drop her as the face of her fashion label Material Girl.

The UK's Daily Star is quoting a friend of Kelly who said, "Kel's at her wit's end over her weight and is worried she's putting back all the pounds she fought so hard to lose. She's recently been on holiday and put on ­almost a stone (14 pounds) while ­enjoying herself."

The friend continues, "She got a bit of a shock when she got home and realized she couldn't fit into her new clothes. Kelly knows a gastric band would be drastic but she's desperate to keep the weight off. Being the face of Madonna's range just adds more pressure. She's scared of getting axed in favor of ­someone skinny if she puts on more weight."
The friend also mentions that Kelly would turn to food for comfort after her recent split from fiancé Luke Worrall

Sharon Osbourne, Kelly's mother, had the surgery done in 1999 and successfully lost 100 pounds, is reportedly backing her daughter should Kelly decide to go through with the surgery.

It has been reported that Kelly has already has booked appointments to see two specialists ahead of the operation.

The reality star and former 'Dancing With the Stars' contestant opened up in the December issue of Shape Magazine about how the media scrutiny of her figure proved too much for her to handle.

"I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem," she says. "It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way."
