6th person dies from Ind. fair accident injuries (AP)

INDIANAPOLIS – Family members say a 22-year-old college student is the sixth person to die from injuries suffered when a stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair last weekend.

Along with several people who died immediately, at least four dozen were injured when a strong wind gust toppled the metal scaffolding holding lights and other equipment and sent it plunging into fans awaiting a concert by the country group Sugarland.

The Star Press first reported 22-year-old Jennifer Haskell died Friday morning at a hospital in Indianapolis. Her uncle, Mike Whited, announced her death in a statement later Friday.

Haskell was entering her senior year at Ball State University, where she was studying sports medicine

State Fair spokesman Andy Klotz tells WTHR-TV the fair expresses "its deepest sympathies to her family."

Miranda Cosgrove breaks ankle in tour bus accident (AP)

VANDALIA, Ill. – Actress and singer Miranda Cosgrove has broken her ankle in a tour bus accident in southern Illinois.

Gina Schulman, a spokeswoman for the star of Nickelodeon's "iCarly," says the accident happened early Thursday on Interstate 70 near Vandalia, 70 miles northeast of St. Louis. Schulman says all five passengers on the bus "will be fine."

Schulman says Cosgrove's "Dancing Crazy Summer Tour" is postponed until further notice. Cosgrove was scheduled to perform Friday in Wichita, Kan., and Saturday in Denver.

She says, "Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding and support."

Cosgrove stars as Carly Shay, the daughter of a colonel serving overseas, on "iCarly." Her album is "High Maintenance." She also featured in "The School of Rock" and voiced the character Margo in "Despicable Me."

Bret Michaels suit over Tonys accident moved to NY (AP)

LOS ANGELES – Bret Michaels' lawsuit over an accident at the 2009 Tony Awards that the singer claims nearly killed him should be heard in New York where the accident happened, a federal judge in Los Angeles has ruled.

It makes more sense for the case — which stems from Michaels being hit in the head by a set piece after performing at Radio City Music Hall — to be handled by a federal court in Manhattan, U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee wrote in a ruling Tuesday.

The Poison frontman sued CBS Broadcasting and Tony organizers in March in Los Angeles, claiming the accident contributed to a brain hemorrhage that nearly killed him. His attorneys argued the case should be heard on the West Coast since Michaels lives in Los Angeles and Arizona, as do some witnesses, including his manager and other workers.

Gee agreed with attorneys for Tony Awards Productions that much of the potential evidence and the vast majority of witnesses — including actors and production workers on the awards show — are in New York.

Michaels' attorney Alex Weingarten said the ruling doesn't impact the singer's case. "The damages are the same in New York or California," he said.

Michaels is seeking unspecified damages on claims that show organizers never explained that the set would be changing after the band performed "Nothin' But a Good Time" during the 2009 Tony Awards. The accident broke his nose, and he contends it led to the hemorrhage that later left him hospitalized and forced him to cancel several concerts.

He also claims the show could have prevented the incident from airing, but chose not to. The clip of the accident became a viral hit on the Internet, with more than 27 million views on YouTube when the case was originally filed.

Email messages to spokespersons for the Tonys were not immediately returned.

'Unlawful Killing,' Accident Photos of Diana Are Exploitative (ContributorNetwork)

COMMENTARY | On the heels of England's royal wedding celebration, a new documentary, "Unlawful Killing," has been released about the death of Princess Diana (mother of princes William and Harry). The film shows graphic images of the dying Diana. "Unlawful Killing" attempts to implicate the royal family in yet another cover-up conspiracy.

Diana, along with her lover Dodi al Fayed and their driver Henri Paul, was killed in an auto accident in Paris Aug. 31,1997. The official story has been that Paul was driving drunk and that's what caused the accident, according to ABC News.

"Unlawful Killing" is based on a note written in 1993, by Diana, in which she says she thinks Prince Charles is plotting to have her assassinated. The film points to alleged inconsistencies in the court's handling of the case. Filmmaker Keith Allen call it an "inquest of an inquest."

However, the real mission of "Unlawful Killing" seems to be to spring the photos on the public and the royal family.

Conspiracy theories about Diana's death aren't new. Books have been written linking Diana's death to the royal family. They say the royal family was angry over Charles and Diana's divorce and blamed Diana. Some, such as Truthquake.com, claim political plots and cover-ups were behind the accident.

Followers of Diana say that the royal family was furious that Diana took a lover (although Charles admitted to having been unfaithful to his wife prior to her extra-marital relationships, according to People). Dodi's father Mohammed al Fayed has long espoused the theory that the crash was no accident.

The problem with "Unlawful Killing" is primarily the new death photos. Photos have been released with Diana in the car just moments before the accident. Photos of the car after the wreck have been published. The new photos were taken by press as she was dying and just moments after her death. They are very graphic and show her face badly damaged. It is the first time these pictures have been seen.

Regardless of any scandal or allegations, the biggest concern is the emotional pain and suffering these photos will cause for William and Harry and loved ones of Diana. The death of their mother was distressing enough without saddening them further.

Royal or commoner, no one should be forced to view gruesome photos of deceased loved ones. Setting legal issues aside, it's morally reprehensible.

In some cultures, the family photographs the deceased in his coffin. When my brother passed away, at age 5, family members photographed him. I was horrified, but I wasn't raised with this tradition. However, it is a sign of mourning and respect. Photos are not shown outside the family.

No documentary, however well-meaning, should be allowed to use death photos to tout a cause, incite unrest, gain viewers or turn a profit. Death is very private and should be kept sacred.

Paul McCartney's ex 'injured in ski accident' (AFP)

VIENNA (AFP) – Heather Mills, the ex-wife of former Beatle Paul McCartney, has sustained a serious shoulder injury in a ski accident in the Austrian Alps, the regional daily Kleine Zeitung reported on Thursday.

Ex-model Mills, 43, has bought a 1.57-million-euro ($2.2 million) house overlooking the Millstaetter See in Carinthia and has been training in the region for the 2014 Winter Paralympics in the Russian town of Sochi, the newspaper said.

She fell and seriously injured her right shoulder while ski-ing on the Moelltal Glacier on Wednesday morning and was flown by helicopter to the nearby hospital in Lienz, the newspaper reported, quoting a hospital spokesman.

There was a chance that Mills might be flown back to Britain, the spokesman added.

Mills and McCartney's marriage ended in a bitter divorce three years ago.

She was awarded ?24.3 million pounds (then $48 million, 30.8 million euros) in an accord finally hammered out after prolonged and acrimonious negotiations.

McCartney married Mills in a lavish ceremony in Ireland in June 2002, four years after his first wife Linda, a photographer and animal rights campaigner, died from breast cancer.

McCartney, 68, is to marry for the third time later this year, after recently announcing his engagement to New York entrepreneur Nancy Shevell.

Pacquiao in minor car accident, not injured (Reuters)

LAS VEGAS (Reuters) – Manny Pacquiao was involved in a minor vehicle accident on Saturday but his management team said he was not injured and set for his WBO welterweight title defense against Shane Mosley later in the day.

"Manny is ready to go," the Filipino southpaw's trainer Freddie Roach told reporters at the MGM Grand where the scheduled 12-round bout will be held on Saturday evening.

According to Pacquiao's publicist, Fred Sternburg, the boxer was returning from mass when the sport utility vehicle he was in was hit from behind at low speed by one of his security vehicles.

Sternburg said the 10-times world champion was "a little shaken up" but not injured in the accident which took place on the hotel property. No police report was filed.

The 32-year-old Pacquiao, already acknowledged as one of the best offensive fighters of all time, is an 8-1 favorite to beat Mosley at the MGM Garden Arena.

Although Mosley is a former three-division world champion and holds a height and weight advantage over the Filipino, at the age of 39 the American is in the twilight of his impressive career.

Mosley, 46-6-1 (39 knockouts), has not competed in the ring since his draw with Sergio Mora in September.

Pacquiao, 52-3-2 (38 KOs), is fighting for the first time since he recorded a ruthless points victory over Mexican Antonio Margarito in November for his eighth world title in an unprecedented eight weight class.

Hollywood DJ Samantha Ronson took quite a spill this Saturday--and posted a photo to prove it. The 33-year-old ex-girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan sported two black eyes and a split lip after getting in a bike accident, PEOPLE reports.

Ronson posted a photo of her injuries on Monday with the message: "Wear a helmet kids!!!" She also Tweeted the photo saying, "Let this be a lesson... if you have a driver's license you probably don't need to be on a bmx bike."

"You should see what I looked like on Saturday," Ronson also told a Twitter follower. "Just a little uglier than usual. Other than that, Vicodin is handling the rest," she added with a smiley face emoticon.
