Mindy Kaling was humble and hilarious on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," talking about her success with "The Mindy Project." When Stewart asked her if she ever had time to sleep -- maybe write it into the show, he suggested -- Kaling insisted she didn't want to sleep.
"Your name is in your own show," she said. "It’s kind of a dream job. So’s mine ... When I’m awake is so much more fun than when I’m sleeping.”
She later joked that she was enjoying her current success so much for a very specific reason. "I’m a minority chubby woman who has my own show on a network," she said. "I don’t know how long this is going to last!”
All of this came out of a shot of Kaling attending her first-ever Met gala this week -- Stewart was jealous, as he said he'd never been. It was a glamorous affair she got to share with former "The Office" co-star B.J. Novak.
After a rough start, her show, "The Mindy Project," is consistently finding critical love. TV Fanatic said the show is working out its kinks and just gets better each week. As it's already been renewed for a second season by Fox, it's on track to be even stronger next season.
