Penelope Cruz arrives in Bosnia for new film (AP)

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina – Authorities say Spanish actress Penelope Cruz is in Bosnia to film Sergio Castellitto's "Venuto al Mondo."

The movie is about a single mother, Gemma, who brings her 16-year-old son to Sarajevo, where his father died in the 1990s Bosnian conflict. It is based on a best-seller by Margaret Mazzantini.

An announcement from the Sarajevo city government says Cruz arrived Wednesday and will film at various locations in town.

The filming will start Sept. 12 and last for 11 days.

"New Girl" arrives early via Hulu, iTunes (Reuters)

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) – Borrowing a launch strategy from cable, Fox will debut its new Zooey Deschanel comedy "The New Girl" online two weeks before it airs on television.

While the move could hurt tune-in for the first episode, the network is betting that online buzz and word of mouth will be more than enough to make up for any losses.

The show debuts September 20, paired with Fox's hit "Glee," but the pilot is expected to be available beginning today on Apple's iTunes.

The episode will become available on Fox.com and Hulu on September 13, and will remain available for streaming through September 19. The pilot will not be available on September 20, the day the show airs.

Fox also began hotel and in-flight viewings last month. The episode will also be available early on hellogiggles.com, a blog Deschanel co-founded.

Cable networks have used early releases to build buzz, but the scope of the online rollout is unique for a network show. Fox has struggled to produce non-animated comedy hits.

News of the early online release was first reported by Variety.

T.I. arrives at halfway house with entourage (AP)

ATLANTA – Grammy-winning rapper T.I. stepped off a luxury motor coach bus Wednesday evening to start serving the rest of his time in a halfway house for a probation violation with a new book deal and TV reality show waiting for him.

The artist, whose real name is Clifford Harris, earlier left the Forrest City low-security prison in Arkansas and was driven the 375 or so miles in the bus with dark-colored windows, followed by four other cars.

Dressed in a red and blue striped polo shirt and white shorts, T.I. stepped off the bus with his entourage to check into the halfway house.

"The storm is over & da sun back out. IT'S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!!" the rapper posted on Twitter shortly after his release. "Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!"

T.I. had initially served about seven months at the prison in 2009 after he was arrested for trying to buy unregistered guns and silencers from undercover federal agents. He was on probation after he was released and ordered not to commit another crime or to illegally possess any controlled substances.

He was arrested again in September 2010 in Los Angeles on drug charges after authorities said he was found with four ecstasy pills. He was sentenced in October to 11 months in prison for that violation, and had been set for release at the end of September.

It appears a flock of cameras will follow T.I. regardless of where he goes next. VH1 said Wednesday that the network will film T.I.'s journey home from jail and debut the show in December. MTV aired a similar reality show on the rapper in 2009 called "T.I.'s Road to Redemption: 45 Days to Go," which chronicled his attempts to help others avoid his mistakes.

T.I. has also finalized a book deal. A representative from HarperCollins told The Associated Press that T.I. has written a book called "Power & Beauty" that's set to be released in October. The novel, which was co-written with David Ritz, is a fictional tale about two childhood friends torn apart by dangerous dealings on the streets of Atlanta.

The arrest on weapons charges came after Harris' best friend was killed following a post-performance party in Cincinnati in 2006. The rapper has said the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.

When he was released from that sentence, he was required to perform 1,000 hours of community service, which he spent mostly talking with schoolchildren about the dangers of drugs, gangs and violence.

But a federal judge said that "experiment" failed when Los Angeles deputies found four ecstasy pills on the rapper.

EX-IMF chief arrives in New York court (AFP)

NEW YORK (AFP) – Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn arrived at a New York courtroom Monday for a new hearing on charges of sexually assaulting a chambermaid last month.

The 62-year-old, once one of the most influential people in the global economy, is set to plead not guilty to trying to rape the woman in his luxury Manhattan hotel suite on May 14.

He is accused on seven counts, including attempted rape, in what prosecutors say was a brutal assault on a 32-year-old immigrant from west Africa.

AFP photographers saw him leaving his luxury rental house early Monday in Manhattan's TriBeCa neighborhood with his wife, former French television journalist, Anne Sinclair.

Shortly afterwards, he and Sinclair arrived at the courtroom, where at least 200 journalists, many of them from French media, were queuing to get in for the hearing.

He was met by a group of hotelmaids protesting and shouting "shame on you."

Strauss-Kahn furniture arrives at house arrest (AFP)

NEW YORK (AFP) – Movers delivered comfy chairs, paintings and clothing boxes Wednesday to the New York residence where Dominique Strauss-Kahn is under house arrest pending trial on sex assault charges.

A truck from JK Moving and Storage pulled up outside the luxury house in southern Manhattan and movers carried in a sofa, arm chairs, a large carpet, two paintings and dozens of clothing containers. Another box was inscribed "Apple computer."

The truck's license plates were registered in Virginia, a state bordering Washington, DC, where Strauss-Kahn owns a house he used while leading the International Monetary Fund.

Strauss-Kahn is free on $1 million cash bail and $5 million bond, with strict house arrest. His next court appearance is Monday, when he is expected to plead not guilty to charges that he tried to rape a maid in a Sofitel hotel room on May 14.

With a trial start probably months away he is expected to remain holed up in the rented Manhattan house for a significant period of time.
