Record label responds to Joan Jett lawsuit (AP)

NEW YORK – A record label that singer-guitarist Joan Jett and 1970s bandmate Cherie Currie are suing to stop the release of a tribute album in homage to their early punk band says the recording was made "with the best of intentions" to raise funds for cancer research.

Main Man Records said Friday it had not received a copy of the lawsuit filed in Manhattan, but said it would vigorously defend itself.

The two-disc album, "Take It or Leave It: A Tribute to the Queens of Noise," features covers of songs by the Runaways, which launched the careers of Jett and Currie. It's supposed to be released June 28.

Jett and Currie say in their lawsuit that the Easton, N.J.-based record label used their names to promote the album without their permission.

As Bush, Ferrell responds to bin Laden's death (AP)

NEW YORK – Will Ferrell has returned to his President George W. Bush impression, this time to respond to the death of Osama bin Laden.

In a Web video posted Wednesday on Funny Or Die, Ferrell's Bush sends his remarks from a Sizzler steak house in Texas. His message? He has personally overseen a "strategic and covert operation," killing a gopher that had been terrorizing his backyard.

The parody ends with the Bush character getting the news that bin Laden has been killed. That makes "two good things," he says.

Ferrell's impression of Bush was popular on "Saturday Night Live." He resurrected it in a 2009 Broadway show, as well as in sporadic videos.

Watched by more than 110,000 by Wednesday afternoon, the video was rapidly gaining viewers.

Paris Hilton Responds to 'Worst Driver' Claim: It Wasn't Me!

Paris Hilton was blasted by 'Fairly Legal' star Sarah Shahi last week for being the "worst driver ever" for reportedly almost hitting her. However, Hilton told Extra that it definitely was not her driving that day.

"I was so shocked when I read that, too," Hilton said of the rumors flying around that she almost hit Shahi while driving.

"First of all, I wasn't even driving that day," she said. "I just came back from Vegas with my boyfriend -- and we were home relaxing. I hadn't even been in the car that day. I literally came with a driver from the airport went to my house."

Hilton continued, "Then later on I read that, I'm like 'Dude, I wasn't even driving,' so I don't know. Maybe it was some other blonde girl who looked like me."

Could a Paris Hilton imposter be a fault for the incident? Hilton believes so.

Shahi ranted on Twitter Friday, calling out Hilton's poor driving skills and taking personal digs at the reality star.

"Paris Hilton- worst driver ever. Almost hit me, then ran a stop sign.what if there was a kid around the corner, you dumb b--ch," Shahi wrote. She continued on to call her a "horrible excuse for a human being" and a "blonde piece of sh-t" but added, "I wouldn't be as pissed if I wasn't a mom."
