'Game Of Thrones' Star Turns 26

Happy birthday, Emilia Clarke!

The "Game of Thrones" star, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO medieval-fantasy series, turns 26 today (May 1) -- and what a year she's had.

The naturally brunette Clarke captured the eyes of audiences around the world when she first appeared as the blonde Khaleesi on "GOT," nabbing the role after fellow British actress Tamzin Merchant dropped out of the pilot for undisclosed reasons.

"She is this incredible, incredible character," Clarke told "Access Hollywood" of Daenerys. "You get to see her start as this really young, naive sort of girl who really doesn't know very much about what's going on in her life and then she just grows into this incredible woman and this warrior princess, really."

Most recently, Clarke starred as Holly Golightly in the Broadway production of Truman Capote's "Breakfast at Tiffany's," which ended in mid-April.

We can't wait to see what this year brings for her.
