Lindsay Lohan has had quite the eventful 24 hours. She ditched one rehabilitation center in New York for one in California, then left that one for another before coming close to getting arrested for violating her plea bargain.
The 26-year-old actress was supposed to start her recovery on Thursday morning at Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach, N.Y., according to TMZ. But she instead boarded a private plane Wednesday evening and flew to California. Once there, Lohan headed to Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, Calif., but then left shortly after arriving.
The "Liz & Dick" star's attorney Mark Heller told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Dabney Thursday that his client had opted out of going to the Long Island facility and instead checked into Morningside at 11 a.m. However, Lohan only spent mere minutes there before leaving.
Lohan was "not happy" with Morningside, her father, Michael, told CNN. The facility posed another problem for his daughter in that it previously had three licenses revoked and could be deemed unsuitable by a judge.
TMZ reported that if Lohan was not checked into a rehab center by 6 a.m. Friday morning, prosecutors could seek a warrant for her arrest.
Dabney -- who insisted that the rehab center chosen must "fall within the parameters of the plea agreement" -- previously told the troubled actress that if she violates her deal he will put her behind bars. "I will send you to jail for six months. I will max you out. We won't be having these conversations," he said, the Los Angeles Times notes.
After leaving Morningside rehab, Lohan checked into the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on Thursday night, according to TMZ.
"She needs rehab and the whole word knows it," a source told People magazine about Lohan's recovery. "And she showed up [at Morningside Recovery] in the morning and hated it. She thought the facilities are gross. ... She is interested in going back to Betty Ford because she knows everyone there."
"She's looking forward to rehab," the source added. "Betty Ford was the best she's been in a long time. She was happy and healthy there."
This is Lohan's fifth rehab stint, People notes. She was sent to Betty Ford back in 2010 after she failed a drug test, which was in violation of her probation. While there, a Betty Ford employee accused the actress of attacking her.
In March, Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in rehab stemming from a June car accident. She was charged with reckless driving and lying to the police. Along with treatment, she must perform 30 days of community service and undergo psychotherapy.
