After confirming last week that the upcoming season of "Dexter" will be the serial-killer thriller's last, Showtime has released two new promos for "Dexter's" final season.
The promo spots feature a series of close-up still photos of Dexter and Deb Morgan's faces that cycle through in rapid-fire succession. An ominous Dexter voiceover warns of a dark season to come.
In the Dexter-focused promo above, Dexter asks, "How many more people have to suffer to keep my identity a secret? Can this charade go on forever, or will I finally hit a dead end?" It closes with a shot of Dexter strapped to his table like so many of his victims.
The Deb-focused spot is just as dark. "I tried to protect her, but instead I ruined her ... Who is Deb now: a killer, or just an innocent victim of my mistakes? She can live with my dark secret, but can she live with her own?" Dexter narrates.
The final season of "Dexter" premieres Sunday, June 30 at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
